The Transaction Hash is an identification number that consists of alphanumeric characters that is linked to a crypto transaction. This string of characters is an identifier related to the tokens or coins you send over the blockchain and mainly used to locate funds or provide proof of a coin transfer.
There are two ways to find your Transaction Hash or TX ID. The first is navigating through your crypto wallet app and the second is by using an External Block Explorer. For the following example, we will use screenshots from the Coinbase app. There are several cryptocurrency apps available and we are not affiliated with Coinbase.
METHOD 1
STEP 1: Open the Coinbase app and select Pay from the footer menu at the bottom, right of the screen.
STEP 2: Find the Coinbase wallet address you want to check from your list of sent transactions.
STEP 3: Tap the View on block explorer button.
STEP 4: Locate the Transaction Hash and copy the alphanumeric string of characters by tapping on the copy button. Paste the information to the location you choose to share.
NOTE: The Transaction Hash/TX ID does not contain personal information. It is safe to share a hash without worrying about leaking personal data. It contains information related to the transactions on the Blockchain and nothing more.
METHOD 2
STEP 1: Search for your wallet address. Please note that you will need to find the specific wallet address of the coin you want to check or the block explorer won't find things correctly.
STEP 2: Copy the address.
STEP 3: Navigate to a Block Explorer and paste the address into the explorer's search. Ethereum Blockchain ETH: https://etherscan.io/. Once you search for the address the information will appear on the screen including the Transaction Hash ID that will be listed near the top of the page.
